Three More CompaniesJoin CLIPOP

Sustainability consultants U&We, telephony service provider Office Management and Dutch restaurant chain, YB by Yoghurt Barn, have joined a growing club of Climate Positive companies.

According to the recently published IPCC’s Sixth Assessment Report, human induced climate change is already affecting every inhabited region across the globe, resulting in extreme weather events such as droughts, heatwaves, and tropical cyclones. It is now evident that humanity must both rapidly reduce the amount of greenhouse gasses we emit to the atmosphere while at the same time remove some of the carbon already emitted to the atmosphere.

The three companies have now successfully gone through the screening process to be registered at CLIPOP.ORG (Climate Positive Planet). All registered companies are following the same criteria to achieve Climate Positivity – reducing their value chain climate emission in line with the UN's 1.5°C target while at the same time offsetting more greenhouse gases than their entire value chain emits. One key point that sets CLIPOP apart from other initiatives is that the whole value chain must be measured, reduced, and offset. Another differentiator is that only high-quality offsets are approved.

Wouter Staal, CEO and Founder of YB by Yoghurt Barn knows the seriousness of this report and said “We’re thrilled to be able to call ourselves Climate Positive and be part of the climate solution along with the rest of the CLIPOP companies.”

“It is fantastic to be able to welcome our first Dutch company. Business leaders are starting to see that being Climate Positive is not a barrier to good business, it enhances it.”, says Ash Farber, Development Coordinator for CLIPOP. “CLIPOP is on a mission to inspire Climate Positive lives and now we have twelve registered companies doing exactly that.”

“We want to push the boundaries when it comes to sustainability, that’s why we focus on the whole value chain,” commented Christian Ceder, business manager at Office Management.

Peter Wrenfelt, founder of U&We said ”We help companies reduce their climate impact every day. By following the most ambitious standard that exists, we can all have a positive impact on our planet, not just one that’s less negative.”
